Can I install the units myself?

Yes. We recommend that you use an authorized SafeRacks installer or qualified handyman, however, if you would like to install the racks yourself, you will need to let the sales representative know what height you would like the racks to hang. This will allow your local distributor to cut the vertical supports for you prior to delivery.

  • The horizontal support hangs 3″ below the top of the wire mesh decking. Make sure to leave at least 1″ clearance between the bottom of the rack and any objects such as a garage door opener or cabinets.
  • Installation instructions are prepared for homeowners who are familiar with the basic installation of shelves, cabinets and storage racks and who understand and can locate the layout of ceiling joists.

What is the maximum storage volume for a SafeRacks rack?

On an 4′ x 8′ (our largest) rack, with the height adjusted to 45″, the storage volume is 120 cubic feet with an overall weight capacity of 600 lbs.

What are the tools required to install the SafeRacks Overhead storage systems?

We recommend the following tools:

If SafeRacks does not have an authorized distributor in my area, may I still order products?

Yes. SafeRacks can always ship products for you to install yourself, or you may locate a local handyman to support your installation.

What are the minimum height requirements for installation?

Since authorized SafeRacks installers customize the racks in your garage, they can adjust the racks to ANY height you’d like. (1″ storage or greater).

Can I become an authorized SafeRacks reseller?

Can I have my SafeRacks units installed professionally?

Yes! Contact your Authorized SafeRacks Distributor or Dealer and they will provide you with information on local installers. To locate a distributor near you, click here.

How long does it take to install SafeRacks racks?

It will typically take an authorized SafeRacks installer ~1 hour per rack to install.

Are your installers insured?

Yes. All authorized SafeRacks distributors are required to carry insurance.

What happens if I order the wrong SafeRacks sizes and the installer realizes it will not fit in my garage?

SafeRacks is available in 7 different sizes and 3 different drop-down depths.

Authorized installers carry additional sizes and quantities when they come to your house.

Should you change your mind on the size or quantity of units, the installer will be able to adjust your order and installation while at your home. You are not required to pay until your racks are fully installed. (Or delivered / shipped)

What is the SafeRacks warranty?

All SafeRacks overhead storage systems come with a limited lifetime product warranty to the original purchaser. Proof of purchase must be provided.

What do I do if I receive a damaged unit or missing parts?

Contact the authorized SafeRacks distributor or dealer who sold you the product and they will replace or fix the product.

What is your return policy?

If you purchase a product where the cost of shipping is included in the purchase price (i.e. Free Shipping) and you subsequently return the product we will refund your payment less the cost of outbound shipping. Customers are responsible for all outbound and return shipping costs.

What if I need to modify my order?

What if I need to change my shipping address?

If you had made a mistake with an order you had just placed online through our website, please contact customer support by phone and let them know the following details to help intervene on your behalf:

  • Invoice / Order # (for easy reference)

  • Full Name (First & Last Name)
  • City & Zipcode
  • Items Ordered

If you ordered through another vendor or retailer please make sure you contact them directly. In most cases we are unable to access this information due to limitation with accessible information if the order was placed same-day.

Can I get same day delivery?

Due to the nature of most of our products and the weight involved we can not guarentee that an order would be able to be shipped and delivered with-in one-day.

In most cases, it is easiest on our customers that they purchase direct from an installer in-order to have the product delivered and customized to their specific requirements.
